This past week our kids began another year of school. This came with mixed feelings among all involved. Jody didn’t want to get back to the regimen of early mornings and homework. Milee was excited to see her friends and meet her teachers. Tanner wanted to ride the bus again and see friends (but would prefer to skip class). And Cailyn surprisingly just didn’t want to go at all it seems.
As for me, I’m not a fan of summer coming to an end. Especially this year as we have had better than average weather for a change. Last August had record rain and was far cooler than this year. I don’t want the rain and cold to come just yet. I cringed when I noticed leaves are already beginning to fall in our backyard!
Oh well. I guess we cannot stop time so we’ll just make the best of it. We managed to get everyone up and going on time each day, and by this weekend I could tell everyone was a little low on sleep overall. We didn’t stick to a strict bedtime schedule this summer, so it will take time to get everyone on track again.
