Holiday Snow Storm!

Boy did we ever get dumped on here in Monroe.  I don't know if this is the worst storm this area has ever seen, but it sure seems like the worst one we can recall in the 10+ years we have lived in the Seattle area.  Unlike our former home in the Salt Lake City area of Northern Utah, when it snows much here, everything shuts down.  Our kids ended up missing three full days of school!

When I was growing up school was only canceled once that I can recall.  We literally ended up with so much snow that I was able to climb onto the roof of our house from the snow pile next to it. Yep, it took 5+ feet of snow to shut us down back then.  Our kids have it easy.

Anyway, here are some pictures I took after the first round of snow hit our place last week.  I should have followed up with pictures after round two when it added probably another 12 inches on top of what you see below. The forecast has more rain and snow coming this week and it looks like a white Christmas day for sure.

How is the weather by now. That is a lot of snow when you aren't used to it.

It has been really cold lately, but we haven't had much snow since this storm.  I doubt we have seen the last of the snow this year though...
