Well, as I mentioned yesterday, today I tried out a new commute option. I left my house promptly at 7:38am, drove Milee to her early morning school activity, and then busted down to the Duvall bus stop. The bus was scheduled to leave at 8:05am and I arrived at 8:05am. I barely made it! I'll need to budget a little more time Friday when I take the bus again.
Overall it was just as I envisioned it would be. Such a nice and relaxing ride. I even ended up chatting a little with a coworker that I hadn't seen in a few years. Then I popped open the laptop and began to catch up on blogs and email, just like I normally would while waiting for my carpool to be ready. Before I knew it, I was at work. The hour just flew by. It was great.
It was interesting to see how the other employees spent their hour as well. One had a DVD of what looked like an episode of "Lost" he was watching. It hadn't occurred to me that I could use the time to catch up on TV shows I like but never watch anymore because I missed so many of the previous seasons. Others were relaxed with music players, or reading books, or like me, reading email. Talk about quiet too. Even those talking could hardly be heard. I am not sure how the public buses are with respect to noise, but this was very nice.
I think I have found a winner in getting to work every day now. But I guess I'll reserve full judgement until I have given it a good week or two.
Tomorrow I will be playing hooky from work so that I can attend a field trip with Cailyn's kindergarten class. We are going to the zoo! Just wish it wasn't supposed to rain...
