Tonight I took the family out to eat for Mother's day. Figured I would save the Mom's of the house the hassle of cooking. At least that is what they believe. The reality is, they wouldn't have cooked regardless. So I saved myself the hassle!
So there we are, sitting in our seats, waiting for our food to be brought out. Not ones to waste time being bored, Tanner and Cailyn quickly slipped into full character and entered their make believe/pretend world. At one point I hear Tanner say "Amy, I am going to text you" (Amy was Cailyn's character). He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his pen-drive MP3 player we gave him for Christmas. Now he pretend texts a message to "Amy", emphasizing the "send" button press. Upon this cue, "Amy" reaches into her pocket and pulls out her MP3 player and commences to read the message Tanner (not sure what is character name was) sent her. Tanner watches her smiling, and she begins to smile back shyly. He says "What? What did I say?". Cailyn seems to falter at this point as she tries to figure out what to say....and before she can rattle off some made up message, Tanner interjects and says "Oh, that's right, you can't read cursive yet can you?".
Kids imaginations are awesome.
