Jody woke in a panic this morning.
“We’re late!” she thought aloud before the fog of sleep faded and she remembered it was Saturday.
Today marks the first Saturday since late December that we have nothing on our calendar. Between kids sports, sleepovers, birthday parties, and everything else – we’ve been booked solid for what feels like years.
Basketball for three kids is brutal to juggle. And often we’d split up to attend games/practices that conflicted. Three games every Saturday. Exhausting.
Basketball season is over now. At least the Fall season anyway. Spring basketball is next – but we may skip it.
Today we’re free. We have an entire Saturday to do anything we want.
So far we haven’t done much. It’s noon and all I’ve managed to do is eat breakfast, shower, and watch a little TV.
Ironically I find myself annoyed that it is such a gorgeous day outside. The good weather has me feeling like I should get out and work in the yard. The early spring has caused our grass to awaken and grow like mad. Time to mow again.
But I’m going to savor freedom and intentional laziness just a bit longer.
