The kids returned to school today after more than two weeks off for the holidays. It was hard on everyone to get back on routine schedule, but we managed.
On the drive home from work tonight I called home and talked with both Cailyn and Tanner.
Conversation with Cailyn:
Me: “How was your day?”
Cailyn: “Good. I was tired this morning.”
Me: “Hmm, guess we’ll get you to bed even earlier tonight.”
Cailyn:" “Umm, no, that’s ok.”
Me: “So what did you learn today?”
Cailyn: “Not much, we mostly wrote a lot in our journals and read a lot.”
Conversation with Tanner:
Me: “How was your day dude?”
Tanner: “Good.”
Me: “What did you learn today? Are you lots smarter now?”
Tanner: “No, we didn’t do much today. We just spent time searching for these one things and reading about them so that we could learn more about them and stuff. That’s pretty much it.”
I soon realized the TV was on and he was only partially participating in our conversation. Oh well. He learned about something.
