Teen minus 12 years and counting!

We cannot believe it has been a year already.  This past Sunday we celebrated the event and also mourned a little at the passing of time.

I have slacked off big time when it comes to posting video updates of her.  I've captured some very cute moments I need to compile and share.

She is such a happy little kid and brings joy to everyone around her.  We all love to spoil her rotten. We think she had a great day overall.

24s1I knew I shouldn't have opened the DVD collection of the first season of the TV series 24.  It was a gift from my parents this past Christmas.  When my Dad heard that I had never seen an episode of 24, I guess he felt I was really missing out.

This set of DVDs had been (until recently) collecting dust on the shelf in my office. I knew that was probably for the best considering all I had heard about the TV series from friends, coworkers, and of course our extended family.  Seems everyone loves 24 and chances were good, we'd like it too.

Should have left the DVDs alone.  Would have saved me money and time.

We're now on season 3.  See you in a few weeks.

Teen minus 1 year and counting!

Today Milee turned 12 years old.  Twelve years.  Where did it go?

Now she is staring down the barrel of teenagedom and she can't wait.  For weeks now she has been taunting her mother:

"Just think Mom, in 3 weeks, 4 days, and 8 hours I will be just one year away from being a teenager!"

Well today she is now just one year away.  Before we know it she will be gunning for 16, then 18, and then....sigh.

She is growing into a beautiful young woman by the day and pretty soon I'm going to have no choice but to deal with....that's right - boys.  Not sure I'm ready.  She still thinks most all boys are stupid (thank heavens), but I know it won't last.

I may have to have her Uncle Dan send up my shotgun that he has been keeping safe for me!  Then in a few years I may try this out.  :)

Kidding aside, and focusing back on today - she seems to have had a good one.  We are very proud of her and cannot imagine life without her.

Happy Birthday Milee!  We love you!
